PRIME CATTLE

HOOF CLASSES

CONDITIONS

  1. Exhibits to be the bona-fide property of the Exhibitor for at least three months prior to the Show.

  2. Exhibits must be true to type and in the opinion of the judge worthy of a prize. The judge in making his decision in the Hoof class will take into consideration weight for age, confirmation and muscling in the case of pens, uniformity of size and type.

  3. No exhibit to compete in more than one class unless otherwise specified.

  4. Entries will only be received subject to the right of the stewards to reject cattle which they consider are of DANGEROUS TEMPERAMENT OR ARE NOT OF SUFFICIENT MERIT to compete as Prime Cattle.

  5. Horned cattle will be exhibited provided the HORN IS TIPPED AND DOES NOT EXCEED THE LENGTH OF THE EAR. Fresh horn or castration wounds are not allowed.

  6. All cattle remaining in the pens for the duration of the show will be fed and watered in pens or at troughs provided. It will be the owners responsibility to feed and water the animals

  7. Stud cattle not eligible, except Bull classes.

  8. All fat cattle in all classes must be yarded between 3-6pm on the Thursday prior to the Show. Cattle will be mouthed, weighed and numbered. HOOF JUDGING IN CLASSES 1-11 WILL COMMENCE AT 10AM Friday February 8. Presentation 1.45pm and Auction 2pm on the same day. BREEDING CLASSES will be received up until 8am Friday February 8 in classes 12-14 and will follow the Fat judging.

  9. Auction to begin at 2pm Friday. All entries from classes 5,6,7,8,9,10,11 to be offered for sale. Classes 1,2,3,4,12,13 may be auctioned at owners request.

  10. HOOF CLASSES trophies to be presented prior to auction.

  11. ENTRIES CLOSE ON Tuesday prior to Show. No late entries will be accepted.

  12. ENTRY FEE will be $5.00 per class.

  13. Weight will be estimated curfew weight.

  14. Mouthing to be arranged with preferred Agent prior to Show.

 

Ribbons will be awarded in all classes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd plus where stated in the schedule

Prize Money 1st $100, 2nd $20

Cattle to be grass fed except for class 7

2.Pen three vealer not exceeding 260kg sponsored by G Birch, G Scholes

3.Single Vealer over 260kg sponsored by Killarney Co-op

4.Pen three vealers over 260kg sponsored  by B E & J G Wright

5.Single steer or heifer over 300kgs, no more than two teeth sponsored by M Murphy & J Welsh

6. Pen three steers or heifers over 300kgs, no more than two teeth sponsored by R Tumbridge

7.  Pen three grain fed steers or heifers suitable for local trade sponsored by Ray White Rural

8.  Single Bullock over 550kgs, no more than 4 teeth sponsored by J Koch & J Wyndham

9.  Pen three bullocks over 550kgs, no more than 4 teeth sponsored by K R & L A Willcocks

10. Single bullock over 550kgs, 6 or 8 tooth sponsored by Harold Curry

11. Pen three bullocks over 550kgs, 6 or 8 tooth sponsored by Tenterfield Produce

PRIME CATTLE JUNIOR JUDGING

A Junior Judging competition will be held on Friday February 8, 2008 during lunch break, and is open to all young people under 25 years of age as at May 1, 2008.

First $25, second $15, third $10. No entry fee.

Agricultural Societies score cards will be used.
